Your Roamer account

You have two accounts with separate sign-ins. Your Rivian account is where Roamer reads your vehicles from. Your Roamer account is what you sign in to Roamer with.

Roamer account and Rivian account

  • Your Rivian account is the one you use in the Rivian app. Once you link it, Roamer reads your vehicles through it. Roamer never saves its password. See Linking your Rivian account.
  • Your Roamer account has its own email, and you sign in with a passkey or a Roamer password. Your Rivian password won't sign you in to Roamer, and changing one password doesn't change the other.

Signing up links your Rivian account first, then creates your Roamer account with your Rivian email filled in. You can keep it or use another address.

If sign-up says there's already a Roamer account with your email, you've signed up before. Sign in, or see Can't sign in.

Passkeys and passwords

A passkey is saved on your phone, computer or password manager, and signs you in without a password. Manage both in Account → Security:

  • Passkeys: add one on each device you use. You can remove a passkey as long as you keep a password or another passkey.
  • Password: optional once you have a passkey. Setting or changing it signs out your other devices and disconnects connected apps.
  • Authenticator App: asks for a code after you sign in with your password. Passkey sign-ins skip it.
  • Sessions: every device signed in to your account. Sign out any of them here.

Your email

Roamer sends recovery links only to a confirmed email. If you kept your Rivian email at sign-up, it's already confirmed. Otherwise, Account → Security shows Unverified: choose Resend verification and open the link within a day.

To use a different address, choose Change email and open the link Roamer sends to it. A confirmed email stays in place until you do.

Can't sign in

  1. On the sign-in page, choose Can't sign in? and enter the email you use for Roamer.
  2. Open the link Roamer emails you within 15 minutes. It works once.
  3. Set a new password. Roamer signs you in, signs out your other devices and disconnects connected apps. If you use an authenticator app, enter its code.

No email? Roamer only sends one to a confirmed address. If yours isn't confirmed, choose recover your account with your vehicle on the same page, and enter your email, one of your vehicles' VIN and its current odometer reading. This needs a vehicle in Roamer and a working link to your Rivian account, and you get 3 tries a day.

If neither works, for example because your vehicle hasn't been delivered yet, email support@rivianroamer.com from the address you use for Roamer.

Lost your authenticator app

When Roamer asks for the code, choose Lost access to your authenticator app? Enter your password, one of your vehicles' VIN and its current odometer reading.

Delete your account

See Delete your account. Unlinking your Rivian account instead keeps your Roamer account but deletes the vehicles and history Roamer recorded for it.
