Is Rivian Roamer affiliated with Rivian?
No. Rivian Roamer is an independent companion, built and run by a Rivian owner.
Is linking safe? Can Rivian Roamer control my vehicle?
Linking is safe, and Rivian Roamer only listens: nothing can ever be sent to your vehicle. You sign in through Rivian's own login, and only the encrypted tokens Rivian returns are kept, never your password. The account linking guide shows every screen. Leaderboards never show your location or routes.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Rivian Roamer runs in your browser, on desktop or phone. Nothing touches the vehicle.
Which vehicles are supported?
R1T and R1S, both Gen 1 (2022 to 2024) and Gen 2 (2025 on), plus the new R2.
Does Rivian approve of this?
There's nothing official to approve yet: Rivian has no companion API, so Rivian Roamer integrates with the same services that power the Rivian app and deliberately rate-limits itself. Companion tools have worked this way for years across thousands of owners. If Rivian ever changes those services, data pauses until Rivian Roamer adapts, and everything already recorded stays yours.
Why pay when the dashboard is free?
The dashboard is a live view. Roamer Plus is the memory: Rivian's feed is live-only, so anything unrecorded is gone for good. Plus keeps every drive, charge, trip, and cost, forever.
Will Roamer Plus show drives from before I subscribed?
No. Your history starts the day you subscribe. The one exception: if you tracked with ElectrAFi or TezLab before, import that file and backfill from it.
What happens if I cancel Plus?
Plus keeps working through the period you paid for. After that, you're back on the free plan. Your recorded history stays yours, and you can export everything to CSV whenever you like; your data is never held hostage.
