How Roamer measures
Rivian shares a limited set of signals with apps like Roamer. Here's how Roamer turns them into the numbers you see, and where they can differ from your vehicle's own display.

Drives
A drive runs until you park for more than 10 minutes. Short stops, like grabbing coffee or dropping someone off, stay part of one drive. Change the stop length, anywhere from 0 to 60 minutes, in Account → Preferences. At 0, every stop starts a new drive.
When your vehicle loses its connection mid-drive, in a tunnel or out of cell range, Roamer keeps the drive whole unless data is missing for more than 10 minutes.
Charges
A charge is one plug-in: it starts when you connect and ends when you unplug.
DC fast or Level 2
Rivian doesn't say which kind of charger you used, so Roamer works it out. A charge counts as DC fast when it peaks above 20 kW and lasts under 3 hours. Everything else counts as Level 2, the kind you'd use at home, at work or at a destination. Level 2 tops out around 19 kW, so the 20 kW line sits well clear of it.
Efficiency
Rivian shares your battery percentage and net capacity, not the energy a drive used. Roamer calculates energy from the change in battery percentage, so rounding and the energy Rivian holds back can leave Roamer's efficiency a little off your vehicle's display.
Battery capacity
Roamer shows your net battery capacity: what's usable after Rivian sets energy aside for thermal management and other needs. That reserve changes with conditions like temperature, so the capacity moves up and down. A dip isn't degradation, and Rivian doesn't share the battery's total capacity.
Pack temperature
Roamer shows pack temperature on your vehicle's Battery page when your vehicle reports it. Some vehicles don't report a real reading, and Roamer leaves it out for them rather than show a wrong number.
Fuel savings
Roamer compares what your drives cost in electricity with what the same miles would cost in fuel. It uses your electricity rate, the distance, and a comparison vehicle: 25 MPG at the weekly US average price of premium gas, unless you set your own in Account → Preferences.
History from before you subscribed
Roamer starts recording when you subscribe to Roamer Plus. Rivian doesn't keep a history Roamer can read back, but if you tracked with ABRP, ElectraFi or TezLab, you can import that history.
Charger reliability grades
The letter grade on a charger comes from Rivian, which grades each site from A to D. A network's grade is the average of its sites' grades.
